India’s first bio village facility in Daspura Tripura

The Tripura government has established India’s first bio village in the state’s Daspura village. Daspura Bio-Village has developed as a village where 64 families completely dependent on agriculture and fishing. The village has been transformed with all residents following a nature-based lifestyle and livelihood.

National Games 2022

Union Home Minister Amit Shan unveiled the mascot and anthem for the 36th National Games in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Saavaj is a Gujarati word used for lion or lion cub. Saavaj has been chosen as the mascot for the 36th National Games to be held in Gujarat.

The government renamed the lawns of Rajpath and Central Vista

The central government has decided to rename the historic Rajpath and Central Vista Lawn as Kartavya Path before they open after redevelopment as part of Central Vista Avenue. After being under renovation for nearly 20 months, Central Vista Avenue will open on September 8, 2022. The avenue is part of the larger Central Vista project, including a new parliament building.

Indian Air Force Base in Ladakh

The Indian Air Force plans to develop a new air base in Ladakh amid the ongoing confrontation with China in the eastern sector of Ladakh. The Indian Air Force had approached the National Wildlife Board for approval to establish a new air base. The proposal to develop a new IAF air base in the Ladakh region was first raised in December 2022 following a clash with Chinese PLA troops in Galwan.

Neeraj Chopra won gold in the Diamond League final

The Olympic champion from India continued her golden run by adding another feather to her cap on Thursday. Neeraj won the coveted Diamond League final in Zurich by securing a gold medal with a throw of 88.44m. In screenplay history, she beat out Jakob Wadlesch from the Czech Republic and Julian Weber from Germany.

Maitree Super Thermal Power Project
