Axar Patel Biography: Axar Patel became the hero of the Indian cricket team with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 64 off just 35 balls to help the team chase down a mammoth target of 312 runs against West Indies in the 2nd ODI (One Day International). ) ) in Port of Spain. Axar Patel’s credit win ensured that the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian cricket team took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Axar Patel is an Indian international cricketer who plays for Gujarat in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The all-rounder made his debut on 15 June 2014 against Bangladesh and was also selected in India’s 15-man squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup, held in Australia and New Zealand. On 13 February 2021, Axar Patel made his Test debut for India against England, taking 7 wickets.

Akshar Patel was born on January 20, 1984, to Rajesh Patel and Preetiben Patel. His full name is Akshar Rajeshbhai Patel, also known as Akshar Patel. Axar Patel never wanted to become a cricketer but rather a mechanical engineer. However, when he was 15 years old, his friend noticed his cricket talent and suggested that he play in an inter-school tournament.
Axar Patel got engaged to his fiancée Meha on her birthday in January 2022. Meha is a dietician and nutritionist and was born in Nadiad, Gujarat. Meha was also seen on the UK tour with Axar Patel.
Axar Patel’s domestic careers
Axar Patel played just one first-class match for Gujarat in his debut season; however, his performance in 2013 was more successful. In his second first-class match against Delhi in 2013, Axar Patel took six wickets in 55 innings. It was his first tour of five windows.
Axar Patel got his first Indian Premier League (IPL) contract with the Mumbai Indians before IPL 2013, although he was on the bench for the entire season. In August 2019, Axar Patel was included in the India Red squad for the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy. In October 2019, Patel was named in the India C squad for the 2019-20 Deodhar Trophy.
Axar Patel IPL Career
Axar Patel was signed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians in 2013; however, he did not get a chance to play until his release. Axar Patel was picked by Punjab Kings XI in 2014 and had an impressive season with 17 wickets. For the 2015 IPL season, Axar Patel was retained by Kings XI Punjab and brought down the order, and he scored 206 runs for the IPL team in 2015 and took 13 wickets.
On May 1, 2016, during a match against Gujarat Lions, Axar Patel won four wickets in five balls, including the first hat-trick of the 2016 IPL season. Kings XI Punjab again retained him for the 2018 season.
In December 2018, Delhi Capitals signed Axar Patel in the 2019 Indian Premier League Player Auction, and Delhi Capitals retained him for the 2021 season.
The International career of Axar Patel
After a stellar performance in the 2014 IPL, Axar Patel found a place in the Indian ODI squad for the tour of Bangladesh. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in the first match of the series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium and scored 1/59. Axar Patel was also a part of India’s 15-man squad for the 2015 Cricket World Cup.
He made his Twenty20 International debut for India against Zimbabwe on 17 July 2015 and was named as a substitute player for India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
Test Debut
In January 2021, Axar Patel was included in India’s Test squad for their series against England. He made his Test debut against England and returned to international cricket after almost three years. His first international proving ground belonged to Joe Root. In the match, Axar Patel took five wickets in the second innings for England, becoming the ninth Indian bowler to do so on debut.
