1. (a) Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government announced on March 31, 2022 that all COVID-19 related restrictions, including wearing of masks in public places, would be withdrawn with effect from April 2, 2022. With this, all COVID-91 restrictions such as buses, 50 per cent capacity in restaurants and cinemas will be withdrawn.

Gudi Padwa festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Maharashtra and Goa on April 2, 2022. Gudi Padwa marks the beginning of spring and a new year for the natives of Maharashtra and Goa. It is celebrated every year on the first day of the month of Chaitra.

3. (c) Arunachal Pradesh

The Armed Forces Special Powers (AFSPA) Act has been extended to three districts of Arunachal Pradesh including Longding, Tirap and Changlang from April 1 to September 30, 2022. Apart from this, the central government has also increased the AFSPA in those areas which are falling. Under the jurisdiction of Namsai and Mahadevapur Police Stations in Arunachal Pradesh.

4. (b) Sri Lanka

Sri Lankans faced power cuts for nearly 10 hours on 30 March and were warned of a prolonged blackout on 31 March. On March 31, Sri Lanka also ran out of diesel, causing the country’s transport system to collapse. Sri Lanka’s electricity regulator has urged more than one million government employees to work from home to save fuel, as record-long power blackouts continue. Diesel, which is the main fuel for buses and commercial vehicles, was not available across the country as on March 31.

Rajya Sabha will bid farewell to 72 members from March to July this year. While 65 of them represent 19 states, seven were nominated members. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded his contribution and MPs recalled their experiences during his farewell ceremony.

World Autism Awareness Day is observed around the world on 2 April to make people understand and talk about people with autism and foster support. World Autism Awareness Day aims to encourage compassion and understanding towards autism as well as establish a more just and affordable world for people with autism.

7. (a) 30 percent

Any income earned from transfers of crypto assets will be taxed at 30% starting April 1. The tax rate will apply to all virtual digital assets and their earnings including non-fungible tokens and bitcoin. Digital assets received as gifts will also be taxable.
