1. (a) Russia

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine and soon explosions were heard in Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev. The move has angered leaders around the world, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who last-minute appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop the war “in the name of humanity”.
