Government Celebrates International Women’s Day week

• Ministry of Women and Child Development is celebrating International Women’s Day week as a prestigious week as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

• The Ministry, as part of the week-long celebration, will organize various programs and social media campaigns covering various topics related to women’s safety and empowerment.

• The week-long celebration will mark an opportunity to celebrate progress made towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment, but also to reflect critically on achievements and strive for greater momentum.

• The Union Ministry will also launch the Stree Manoraksha project in collaboration with NIMHANS Bangalore.

Field assessment of Swachh Survekshan 2022 launched

• The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the field assessment for the 7th consecutive edition of the world’s largest urban sanitation survey.

• Swachh Survekshan 2022 which was designed with People First as its driving philosophy is designed to capture the initiatives of cities for the overall welfare and well being of sanitation workers.

• Swachh Survekshan was launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in 2016 as a competitive framework to encourage cities to improve the status of urban sanitation.

• Swachh Survekshan 2022 The survey was formally launched by the government on March 1, 2022.

US announces closure of US airspace for Russian Aircraft

• US President Joe Biden has announced the closure of US airspace for Russian aircraft.

• Although the president ruled out sending US forces to Ukraine and Europe to fight Russia, he said US forces would defend every inch of land if NATO were allies.

• The US and its allies have also been assisting the Ukrainian people in their fight for independence and will continue to help the people of Ukraine while defending their country.

• The United States has also mobilized its ground forces, ships, air squadrons to defend countries such as Lithuania, Poland and Estonia.

Saurabh Chaudhary won the Gold Medal in the International Sports Federation World Cup

• Saurabh Chaudhary in shooting has won India’s first gold medal at the International Sports Federation World Cup in Egypt.

• India’s 19-year-old Chaudhary defeated Germany’s Michael Schwald 16-6 in the gold medal match of the men’s 10m air pistol event.

• On February 28, 2022, India’s Shreya Agarwal had missed out on making the semi-finals of the 10m air rifle event of the World Cup.

• Shreya Aggarwal scored a total of 629.3, 0.1 less than eighth semifinalist Eztor Mazaros of Hungary.
