Indian Army Day is observed every year on 15 January to commemorate the day when Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa took over from General Sir Francis Butcher, the former British Commander-in-Chief, as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. India. The transfer of power took place on 15 January 1949.

India’s first indigenous 9 mm machine pistol has been developed jointly by the Indian Army and the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The Ministry of Defense gave this information on 14 January 2021.

A 122-member contingent of Bangladesh’s armed forces will participate in India’s Republic Day parade on January 26, 2021.
