Fastest 50 in Tests for India: Rishabh Pant scored the fastest 50 by an Indian in Test cricket, breaking Kapil Dev’s record during the second India vs Sri Lanka Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant scored 50 runs in 28 balls. It is also the 13th fastest fifty in the world.

Kapil Dev had previously set the record for the fastest 50 for India by scoring 50 off 30 balls against Pakistan in 1982. Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq holds the world record for the fastest 50 runs in Tests, scoring 21 runs in both timing and facing balls. Balls in 24 minutes during the Pakistan vs Australia Test match in Abu Dhabi in 2014. David Warner is second in the Australia vs Pakistan Test match in Sydney in 2017 scoring 50 off 23 balls.
Among Indians, Shardul Thakur is the third fastest to 50 runs for India in Tests and Virender Sehwag is second.
