2022 ICC Player of the Month
India’s star batsman Virat Kohli has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for October 2022 after delivering some outstanding performances in the shorter format of the game. Virat Kohli also celebrates his first Player of the Month award after scoring 205 with the bat. On the other hand, Pakistan’s all-rounder veteran Nida Dar won the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award for October 2022.

The first private rocket launched in India
Vikram-S, India’s first privately developed rocket, is set to launch between November 12-16, 2022. Hyderabad-based space company Skyroot Aerospace made the announcement. Skyroot Aerospace’s first mission, codenamed ‘Brabham’ (top), is configured to carry three customer payloads.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India’s upcoming presidency of the G20 group in the country’s 75th year of independence is a source of pride and an excellent opportunity for the country. Prime Minister Modi made the remarks after revealing the logo, theme and website of the Indian G20 presidency. India will take over the G20 presidency from Indonesia, the current president, from December 1, 2022.
ICC Hall of Fame 2022
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the latest legends to join the prestigious list of cricket greats that make up the ICC Hall of Fame. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Charlotte Edwards and Abdul Qadir were inducted after a voting process involving current Hall of Famers, media representatives and senior officials from FICA and ICC.
Cauvery South Wildlife Sanctuary
The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared an area in the Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri reserve forests as the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary, which covers an area of 686,406 km², will be part of a protected landscape that currently constitutes the Cauvery North Wildlife Sanctuary shared between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
2023 Women’s World Boxing Championship
India will host the Women’s World Boxing Championships in 2023 in New Delhi. The decision comes two years after the country was stripped of the rights to host men’s events for failing to pay the required fee to the world governing body.

Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh launched India’s first national repository of life sciences data generated from publicly funded research. The Indian Biological Data Center (IBDC) established at the Regional Biotechnology Center has four petabytes of data storage capacity.
