The third anniversary of the National War Memorial was celebrated on February 25, 2022. The National War Memorial was built in memory of the valor and sacrifice of all the soldiers who laid down their lives for the country since 1947. It was dedicated to the nation. It is very clear that Russia has more military power than Ukraine, covering land, air and sea. Russia has about 10 times more naval personnel than Ukraine. The NATO coalition has a total of 30 member states and under its collective security system, an armed attack on one member state would be considered an armed attack on all.

The Black Sea is a marginal Mediterranean Sea located between Europe and Asia. Countries bordering the Black Sea include Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Turkey, and Romania. Black Sea water is anoxic, as the absence of oxygen in the water in the Black Sea is significant.

The Indian Air Force will participate in a multi-nation air exercise titled ‘Cobra Warrior 22’ at the Royal Air Force Base in Waddington, United Kingdom from March 6-27, 2022. India will send five indigenous LCA Tejas fighter aircraft to participate. The exercise and a C-17 aircraft will provide transport support.

Vipul Gunatilka has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Jet Airways. Vipul Gunatilka was previously serving as the CEO of Sri Lankan Airways till January 2022. He will officially join Jet Airways in a new position with effect from March 1, 2022 and will be instrumental in reviving the grounded carrier.

16-year-old Indian Grandmaster Rameshbabu Pragyananand defeated world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway in the eighth round of the AirThings Masters online rapid chess tournament. Both Pragyanandada and Carlson made poor starts in the event.

The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 were announced at a function on February 20, 2022. Ranveer Singh won the Best Actor award for ’83’, while Kriti Sanon won the Best Actress award for her stellar work in ‘Mimi’. ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ won the DPIFF 2022 Film of the Year award. Asha Parekh honored with DPIFF 2022 Outstanding Contribution to Film Awards.

Andhra Pradesh’s Minister of Information and Technology and Industry Mekapati Gowtham Reddy passed away on February 21, 2022 due to a heart attack. Reddy was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills after falling in his place. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and AP Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan expressed grief over the sudden demise of Gowtham Reddy.

Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced to 5 years in jail on February 21, 2022 by the CBI Court in the fifth fodder scam case. He was found guilty on February 15, 2022 along with 39 others in the fifth fodder scam case. The CBI court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh on Lalu Prasad Yadav.
