Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveils G20 logo, theme and website
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India’s upcoming presidency of the G20 grouping is a proud moment and a great occasion to mark the country’s 75th year of independence. Prime Minister Modi made the remarks after introducing India’s G20 Presidency logo, theme and website during a virtual event. India will take over the presidency of the G20 from Indonesia, the current President, from December 1, 2022.
Government appoints Justice Rituraj Awasthi as Chairman of the Law Commission of India

Earthquake in Nepal
At least six people were killed and five others injured in a 6.2-magnitude earthquake that struck western Nepal early on November 9, 2022. According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake hit Nepal at 2:12 am, with its epicentre at Khaptad National Park in Doti. District. Strong tremors were also felt in North India after the earthquake in the Himalayan region near Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand, bordering Nepal.
