UP, Punjab Assembly Polls 2022: Voting underway in 59 seats in UP, 117 seats in Punjab
Assembly Election 2022: The third phase of UP Vidhan Sabha Elections 2022 is going on in 59 constituencies spread over 16 districts. The fate of prominent candidates including Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal will be decided today.
Voting began at 7 am today and will continue till 6 pm. Under the third phase of UP elections 2022, 627 candidates are in the fray, of which 97 are women.
The 16 districts where polling took place are Firozabad, Kanpur Nagar, Mainpuri, Jhansi, Etah, Hathras, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Lalitpur, Kanpur Dehat, Kannauj, Auria, Mahoba, Kasganj, Etawah and Farukhabad.

Karhal- Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav is contesting his first assembly election and has been pitted against Satya Pal Singh Bhagel, Minister of State in the Union Law Ministry.
Jaswantnagar – Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav is contesting from this seat.
Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022 will be held in seven phases, in the remaining four phases, polling will be held on 23 February, 27 March, 3 March and 7 March.
Punjab Election 2022
Assembly elections are being held in Punjab in one phase. Altogether, polling has been held in 117 seats and 1304 candidates are in the fray. Punjab Assembly Election 2022 began at 7 am and will end at 6 pm.
In Punjab, there is a multi-party contest between the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party alliance and the alliance of BJP and Punjab Lok Congress Party.
