Indian business tycoon Gautam Adani was ranked seventh in the Titans category on the Times 100 Most Influential 2022 list. The Times List is divided into six categories: Pioneers, Icons, Artists, Titans, Innovators, and Leaders. Adani is named in the Titans category along with Apple CEO Tim Cook and popular American TV host Oprah Winfrey.
2. (a) Vinay Kumar Saxena
Vinay Kumar Saxena was appointed as the new Deputy Governor of Delhi on May 23, 2022. He is the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) chairman. He will replace Anil Baijal, who resigned last week citing “personal reasons” after serving five years and four months.

Abhilasha Barak became the first female fighter pilot in the Indian Army on May 25, 2022. She became the first female officer to join the Army Aviation Corps as a combat aviator after completing the Aviation Course of the Combat Army for six months. This comes thirty years after India incorporated women as officers in the armed forces.

On May 24, 2022, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has re-elected WHO Director-General for a second five-year term by WHO member countries during the 75th World Health Assembly. He was the only candidate for the post of head of the WHO. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus became the first African to take over as head of the WHO in 2017. He previously served as Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister from 2012 to 2016 and Minister of Health from 2005 to 2012.

Narinder Batra resigned as president of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on May 25, 2022. Batra announced that she would not run for another term as president of the body. Kashmiri separatist leader and outlawed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik has been sentenced to life in prison by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Delhi in a terrorist financing case. . The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has imposed a lifetime ban on wrestler Satendra Malik after he punched referee Jagbir Singh during CWG tryouts inside KD Jadhav Hall at IGI Stadium. The incident occurred after losing the 125kg final during the 2022 Commonwealth Games trials in the presence of WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan. He allegedly punched the referee at the stadium, leading to a lifetime ban from the wrestling federation.
