1. (a) Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the country’s longest rubber dam, “Gayaji Dam,” and a one-foot steel bridge over the Phalgu River to facilitate visitors to the Pitrupaksha Mela to pay homage to the ancestors. The rubber dam on the river, and vast sand dunes will attract more pilgrims and change the landscape.

Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 23 runs to win their sixth Asian Cup title at the Dubai International Stadium on September 11, 2022. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Chasing the target, Pakistan scored 147 runs in 20 overs, with Mohammad Rizwan being the leading scorer with 55 runs.

India will host the G20 Leaders Summit on September 9-10, 2023, on the New Year. The country will assume the presidency of the G20 for one year, from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023. The summit is expected to host over two hundred G20 meetings across the country.

Lead Counsel Mukul Rohatgi will be appointed as the 14th Attorney General of India after KK Venugopal vacates the post. This will also be Mukul Rohatgi’s second term as Attorney General of India. He first held the position between June 2014 and June 2017.

5. (b) HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank has become the first bank in India to issue Electronic Bank Guarantee (e-BG) in partnership with National e-Governance Services Limited (NESL). The electronic bank guarantee eliminates the physical documentation attached to the bank guarantee and becomes available digitally to the beneficiary.

6. (a) 50 million

According to a United Nations report, around 50 million people will live in modern slavery in 2021. According to the report, the risk of forced marriages increased in Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, and Egypt due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

7. (c) Phogat Wines

Vinesh Phogat has become the first Indian female wrestler to win two medals at the World Championships after winning a bronze medal in the 53kg category. She defeated the defending European champion Emma Malmgren of Sweden. This is Vinesh Phogat’s second bronze medal in the championship. He had earlier made it to the 2019 edition of the tournament.

The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to include the Gond and their five sub-castes in the list of Scheduled Tribes of Uttar Pradesh in the Bhadohi district of the state of Uttar Pradesh.

9. (d) Andhra Pradesh

The Government of India has launched the pre-production stage of India’s first lithium cell manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. This facility has been established with an outlay of Rs. Rs 165 crore is located in one of the two electronics manufacturing clusters based by Prime Minister Modi in 2015.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022 will be hosted by India from 11 to October 30 2022. The seventh edition of the biennial youth tournament will be the first FIFA women’s competition hosted by India. The tournament has the potential to strengthen women’s football in the country.
